Protobass Posted - 07/06/2011 : 23:06:31
b factor being bass factor?

If so i plan to make a bass stick soon enough. Just trying to find the appropriate blank right now. Not that expensive to make a really nice rod with good components either, god bless american prices

When you got the B factor nailed down ill commission you to build me a new stick.

Matt,

Benny wasnt referring to loomis, haha. Im on other forums with him and my username is G Factor, lol.

I bet your going to hate to hear that i just sold a Loomis SR842-2 GLX to fund this rod :) Their blanks are amazing, no doubt about it. But I couldnt handle the grips. The feel of the reel seat thread under my hand pisses me off to no end, lol. Otherwise they are brilliant rods and i wish i liked the handles as the blank is perfect.

I built this rod on a phenix elixir 2-6lb rod. Stupidly light outfit man, probably as light as the loomis if not lighter!

Hey Benny 88 he ain't going for the g factor with all that deco aye? G being g loomis I imagine! I agree being an obsessed owner of loomis you cannot beat their simplicity and lightweight(glx)! But this is a sweet looking rod mate, I wish I knew where to start when it comes to building! Well done on rod again. What style rod is it based on if at all?
Protobass Posted - 05/06/2011 : 15:34:04
cheers for the kind words guys...

and benny...haha.

To be honest guys all the wrapping took a bit over an hour. The main thing that took ages was the middle sections with the red and silver stripes, they took ages. Whole rod was done in 2 days including epoxy cure times, but butt piece arrived late so needed to include that a week later. Building a couple of rods soon on MHX blanks, keen to see how they go

Looks great I really like your decorative wraps mate, that red one leading up to the stripper must've taken an hour to do! How good is the feeling when you finally finish building your first rod? Just try not to snap yours like I did mine#58376;
benny88 Posted - 05/06/2011 : 11:39:45
hmm, i dont know. I think its missing that G factor...
matt jorg Posted - 05/06/2011 : 09:13:56
Sweet looking work mate! Original looking too. How much time goes into a rod like that? Especially with all that decorative wrap. Cheers matt
