I'm want to get into bass fishing but I'm not sure what gear to get. So much information out there it's very confusing. I recently purchased a Shimano Chronarch 200E6 reel a Tatula 100H bait caster and was wondering what to marry them with.

Any suggestions what rods would be suitable.

Is there a rod that I could use for both Bass and Barra fishing.

Nearly forgot. I'll be fishing in my tinny.

Thanks in advance.

Depends where you are going to be fishing and what your budget is. The reels are just fine.

I use a 10-16lb mostly but we get some big bass and cod here.

Depends on how heavy you go for Barra.
I had a 2 piece 5'6" Loomis GL3 that was rated to 4kg i think it was.
I have landed heaps of legal King Fish on that rod from my kayak and yet could still throw small bass lures.
Nice fast tapper so the bigger the fish the lower down the rod the bend gets.
Abu 1500 for Bass and a 6500 Rocket for the kings on the same rod.
Not ideal but worked for me until i stood on it!

Thanks for the feedback. I have bought a GL2 14lb - 20lb for Barra fishing but I am thinking way to heavy for bass. I am taking 2 Barra set ups with me but I wondering if there was a rod that may do both Barra and Bass fishing. The second rod would be used in the River not so much for impoundments. It would me used more for Bass fishing.

Out the back of Wedding Cake island usually before the sun is up.
Bit creepy if your the only one out there and most fish seem to be 64.5 cm rather than the legal 65. I have only ever kept one and that was 73cm. Been done by plenty though. Mirage 580 Sea Kayak is what i was fishing out of.
