Is anybody on here also on KFDU? I ask as the site seems to have been done for quite some time.

Although there is the odd post that is worth reading it isn't the same as ausbass. It is a shame that not more of the freshwater brigade on there don't post here.

Im also a fan of WB @T. Great vids.
Aus Bass Forum is a pretty specialised segment of the whole fishing scene where KFDU is just a general forum. I have always been reasonably vocal although polite in suggesting people dont provide too much info about specific locations. Cant see how that would keep people away though. As you said Lastworm one of the great things about this forum is just the general chat about Bass fishing.

Iím a huge fan of the Windsor Bait and Tackle YouTube channel also Dave, Aaron does a great job. I havenít managed to work out any of his spots, but Iím not from the area so itís all pretty unfamiliar to me.
Itís a struggle to find much content anywhere anymore, well up to date content anyway. I now rely on my own ability to sus out new spots to hopefully add to this site, which I guess is the aim of the game to begin with. Although I havenít been that successful.
Personally I miss the chatting component of the sites, the next best thing to actually fishing is chatting about fishing - I know I can do that all day long.

I've been checking out Windsor bait and tackle YouTube posts. they are made at a lot of spots that i have been fishing and are very helpful to me and a good watch.

Hey Ken
Just to add l too peep, I look at the peeps on the active pages and look at what they are looking at. Bad news we are losing all the best pictures on the old post so soon they will all be gone and there will be no more peeps left too.

I usually fish the upper Nepean so I give it month till going out,I been a real rainmaker the last two years so more floods are coming.
I know people get upset about trip reports but there must be hundred spots I've fished once after seeing a article and never went back, I'm sure its the locals who flog spots rather than visitors with no idea of the patterns needed to get results.

Good post Dave. Bass fishing provides many things for many people and your take on what it has done for you is a consideration far beyond anything I had thought of. Mostly we hear of things like, it gets you into nice places or you get to see great wildlife etc but I think itís great that it has enabled you to learn new skills as well. As for the spelling and punctuation. Who cares. As long as it makes sense to you.

This bass fishing caper is a special pursuit. I was lucky enough to be introduced to it at a young age by, both my father and grandfather. Back then we only soaked baits and it was all about catching a feed. The collection of bait in the form of crickets, shrimps and grubs was just as big a part of it as catching the fish. As the years have passed and with neither of my mentors no longer here the memories have become more valuable.

Needless to say I no longer soak baits but still enjoy all that a trip to the freshwater has to offer. And I feel a great connection with my Dad and Pop whenever I get away. So I guess itís not really too much about the fishing. Itís just a means to a very important end.

KFDU. Stands for Kayak fishing down under. I. Have rarely posted on it but some of the freshwater tails are worth a read.

Keep tapping those keys mate and get a report or two up.

Hi Ken
I'm not aware of KFDU who are they. I have made a few different posts on how sad it is that this forum has declined. For me this forum has got me off my butt and i'm so keen on bass fishing. I have made an attempt to write posts. Witch up till all this started putting words on paper was never going to happen. I've learnt how to navigate a computer and things like that even if my spelling and punctuation are not the best so I hope they do pick things up and more people will get interested again. So to those pep's out there you know who you are some time there is upto 60 of you looking in at the same time. Join us and get some posts up.

Thanks for that Charlie. I donít do the Facebook thing. No offence taken either. From memory some on Ausbass felt that KFDU members were a bit too liberal in disclosing fishing locations.

Have you had any success so far this season? Iím loving this rain. Hopefully it might kick things on a bit.

Cheers Ken

There is some issue there with the site owner losing interest and moving on however according to their Facebook it's coming back soon.

"It is a shame that not more of the freshwater brigade on there don't post here."
This is not directed to you personally Ken but I dont see people posting here when they were abused by Ausbass members for posting reports on KFDU

From memory they migrated the site to another url a few years back. Some people still check the site and direct users to the new site - I know because I asked a question in there a few years back and got the same response. I canít remember the name of the new site though.

AKFDU was a great site, unfortunately the days of forums seem to have disappeared thanks to social media...
